Villager Paths of Destruction1.5 paths on 1.6 maps, new paths linked below
I filled the entire world of Stardew Valley with items with one goal in mind, let the villagers destroy everything… which they did. For SCIENCE! or rather… for DECORATING!

1.6?
Maps are to be checked with the newest update. There are a few locations that are altered and new areas to consider.
With the 1.6 update, there have been some changes, so I set out to make an updated version, and SWEET YOBA did I make it hard for myself by using CHESTS of all things to mark breakage paths. Why you ask?
Welp, there goes that! Yeah, I loaded up my map making farm and people were kicking chests all OVER the place! Hearing a dozen chest thumping noises all at once (I use a time speed mod) was both hilarious and disheartening. I use the chests to indicate where walking hasn’t occurred, and someone just pushing is along doesn’t track that properly.
So, I asked for some help in the SDV creator community and got some good advice, but ultimately dug around in the code to remove the object property for chests to make them destructible again. We like destruction in this farm.
I had been thinking of updating the look of these maps for a while now too, so I changed the look of the chests to be the green building placement square, and filled in any actual paths with a modified path to look like the red placement square.
Here, you’ll see the paths as they are from the 1.5 update, but with the 1.6 maps. Any new piece of land added is indicated by the witch rarecrow.
I am also extremely embarrassed to admit this, but making the original maps took days longer than needed. I didn’t even think to use debug console commands back then, and started filling things in again to do this all over again. Then I remembered the clearfarm command, so I figured there should be a fill with debris or something. I found the debug fillwithobject command and my soul left my body. I could literally just input the object id and the game will fill any available space with said item.
And here I was filling in spaces one by one like some Joja chump.
With that knowledge, (and after staring at myself in the mirror working through a roller coaster of emotions, questioning my purpose and the time I have left in this world and thinking about how much I had lost and wasted) I got back to work.
So, I now have all locations filled with green squares for original safe spaces, red squares for original destroyed spaces, and filled the red paths back up with some blue crates, so I can see what old unsafe spaces are now safe, and what old safe spaces are bad spots, and I’m letting the game run in the background right now, so those will be out hopefully soon.
I still need to marry everyone again and account for different events and schedule changes, so it might take a while. I also have plans to make a second file to do the same but just for the first year before Leo moved to town, and JojaMart was still around.
Not Pictured:
Some locations are not shown here, they are either completely used, or are unused. These will be adjusted as I discover more about the 1.6 changes. With me working on updating these, I went ahead and filled them all with breakables to see if anything happens. Like the wizards tower… just a little reminder of his past mistakes. I’m the only witch he needs…
Safe zones with altered maps as of 1.6 that needs to be checked
The original maps were taken from a 100% completed game file, with which I did everything I could possibly do to access every map and variation, so there may be some spoilers if you haven’t worked through the 1.5 update released in 2020.
Pelican Town
This map will need a major overhaul, all the paths have changed. We have a new additional section in the top right now. *Note* there is a secret on the map, and I didn’t mark it because I believe in the joy of discovery. But in case you already know about it and are wondering, nobody goes there so it’s a safe space as far as I know.
The Bus Stop
The only major changes here come from getting married and when Emily visits Sandy. The 1.6 update expands this location out, but only by view and not so much placeable space. With new festivals, I’ll be keeping an eye on this place.
Cindersap Forest
Pictured after Year 3 and the Trash Bear has done their thing. I finally got around to grabbing Robin’s axe but she’s probably never getting it back. That spawning in destroyed a chest but it should be safe after that is done.
The Ocean and Tidepools
A lot of chests were destroyed when the Villagers started heading to Willy’s Boat, as well as some on the docks from when I got married to a couple of different candidates.
The Mountains
This doesn’t account for Sebastian sometimes walking across the lake bridges.
The Trainyard / Railroad
A train coming through didn’t crush the boxes, and the chests are able to be placed all the way up to the summit entrance.
Bathhouse
The Women’s room is untouched so I didn’t include the picture. Also, the shower in the Men’s room hasn’t been used. Gross Alex… just gross.
Calico Desert
Emily visits Sandy for her birthday once a year, and they go on a rampage. As far as I know, the new festival changes to a new map like all other festivals, so things should not change due to that.
Sandy’s Oasis
Seed Shop
The Seed Shop where Pierre, Abigail and Caroline all kick it. 1.5 added the space near the bottom. 1.6 changed up some decor and such.
Caroline’s Tea Room
Harvey’s Clinic
I made sure that every Villager that has an appointment with Harvey made it to their checkups so that the space here is updated. Unsure if they change in 1.6, as I haven’t gotten around to that yet.
Harvey’s Apartment
Granny’s Place
Evelyn and George’s place. Oh, and Alex lives here too I guess. The notable update here is George & Evelyn’s room. A bed fit for two!
Pam & Penny’s Trailer Home
My file has this upgraded, still need to get a new map here.
Pam & Penny’s Home
I’m still a bit upset that I financed this place and Pam still sleeps on the couch. There are a couple of chests missing from either side of her bedroom door as that causes pathing issues normally, but she doesn’t even go in there, so I’m sure those spots are safe.
Jodi, Vincent, Sam and Kent
Another great upgrade! Kent and Jodi have a big bed! But it looks like Kent is a bit of a bed hog.
Emily and Haley’s Home
Emily & Haley’s home. Alex doesn’t stop visiting when you get too close to Haley. That’s nice they can still ne friends.
Lewis’s Mayor Manor
We have an added machine here.
Stardrop Saloon “Before”
This image has not been changed yet, my saloon is currently in the “after” stage. This is how the Saloon looks before changes with Alex’s 14 heart event. I have the after-event shot near the bottom of the page with the other “Spoilers.”
The Blacksmith
I love the added decor touches, even if they do take away from space I can place.
The Museum & Library
There was a very small change with the addition of Leo.
The Carpenter (Robin, Demetrius and Maru)
A few chests are missing here compared to the prior map, which likely happened when I married Sebastian or Maru and they came home to visit.
Sebastian’s Dungeon
Marnie’s Ranch
Finally caught Marnie on a day she’s working.
Leah’s Cottage
Elliott’s Cabin
Willy’s Shop
Willy’s backroom gets no actual foot traffic, so it’s a Safe Zone. There’s a new thing over there, but so far no one seems to go over ther.
Jojamart
Can’t say I trust leaving items in here, but you can. Although, if you complete the Community Center with things inside here, they are gone forever. I learned that the hard way and had to re-do JojaMart on a new farm because I forgot to get a picture the first time.
The Community Center Completed
Before you complete the community center, there isn’t any foot traffic in here, so it’s not pictured. Keep in mind, if you put stuff in here and then finish the Community Center or your Joja Membership, your stuff is going bye bye.
Ginger Island
Leo’s Hut
The Jungle
Ginger Island Shrine
Leo does come over here from time to time.
Island South (Resort Built)
I spent a ton of time trying to get every Villager to visit the resort. Nearly all of them do, apart from Willy, the Wizard, Linus, George and Evelyn, Sandy, Gunther, Dwarf and Krobus, and all the “other” NPC’s. As I was watching them it looks like there are a few villagers who have specific paths, like Sam playing his guitar, and others swap between a few different patterns. I’m not 100% sure they have done all their damage, but this is the result of letting them cause property damage on the resort every sunny day for a year and a half in-game.
Island North
I chopped down all the trees to make it easier to see. The only person who comes up here is Leo. I had him do his normal routine for an in-game year before I triggered his heart event for him to move in the Treehouse in the Mountains. Afterward, he does come back to the island to visit often, so I gave him another year so that I could see the final results. There is one spot I could put a chest, at the cave entrance by the river, but there was nowhere for me to go to make the room so I left it. Leo’s cutscenes don’t affect the boxes. *This map has been altered in 1.6 so it needs an update.
SPOILERS BELOW
The below pictures are from areas you have access to after you complete the community center, and stuff some may consider spoilers.
Stardrop Saloon “After”
Alex’s 14 heart event opens up the back room for Game Day.
Theater Interior
I took EVERY villager to the movies. I placed the chests when there wasn’t anyone really in here, and the various loitering patrons don’t destroy anything. Other villagers who watch the move and leave at the end will destroy stuff. I’m not sure this is 100%, but I went to the movies 40 times and ended with this.
Joja Theater
If you sold your soul to the company store, the Community Center will be a warehouse. Nobody goes in there, so it’s a Safe Zone until you upgrade it to a Theater. The Joja Theater pathing is the exact same as the regular one, I tested it with 40 movies as well.
New Locations from 1.6 updateNew maps, new potential “farm expansions”
This new update brings not just a few new locations, but quite a few adjustments to previous locations. Here are a few places that have maps to keep an eye out for, and I’ll look into making maps for them in time.
